Dwyane Wade, Blake Griffin named Players of the Week

The Miami Heat's Dwyane Wade and the Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin today were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 16, through Sunday, Dec. 22.

Wade averaged 26.3 points (fourth in the Eastern Conference) while leading the Heat to a 3-0 week. He led Miami in scoring in all three games.

Griffin helped the Clippers to a 4-0 week behind averages of 26.0 points (third in the Western Conference), 11.3 rebounds (ninth in the conference) and 3.3 assists. He recorded three point-rebound double-doubles in the week.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta's Al Horford, Charlotte's Kemba Walker, Golden State's Stephen Curry, Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, Portland's Damian Lillard, Toronto's Kyle Lowry and Washington's John Wall.
