Wake Forest says guard Mitchell Wilbekin has been suspended for up to six games because of an undisclosed NCAA violation.
School officials made the announcement about two hours before the Demon Deacons' game against Florida on Saturday in Sunrise, Florida.
Athletic director Ron Wellman says the school will appeal because "we believe in Mitchell Wilbekin" and do not agree with the length of the penalty or the violation.
