Meyers Leonard will have surgery on shoulder; out for the season

Portland Trail Blazers forward Meyers Leonard will undergo surgery to repair his injured left shoulder and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season, the team announced Thursday.

The surgery is scheduled to be performed on Friday, April 8 by Dr. Neal El Attrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.

A prognosis on Leonard's return will be made following the procedure.

Through 61 games this season, Leonard is averaging 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
