Joel Embiid suffers setback, could alter Sixers draft plans

Joel Embiid seems no closer to playing nearly one year after the Sixers took him with the third overall pick in the draft.

According to a statement by Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie, Embiid’s right foot was found to have “less healing than anticipated” in a recent medical examination in Los Angeles.

Embiid had been expected to participate with Sixers' summer league teams in July, but that could jeopardized now. For now, it is too soon to tell how long Embiid will be kept out.
