Joel Embiid, who was selected third in last summer's draft, will have a second surgery on his right foot and is expected to miss all of next season, the team announced Saturday night.
Sources said the team will decide whether the surgery will take place in North Carolina or at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
The franchise is concerned that this setback is career-threatening.
