Mavericks sign Bernard James to 10-day deal

The Dallas Mavericks signed former second-round pick Bernard James to a 10-day contract Wednesday.

Because the All-Star break begins Thursday, a 10-day contract Wednesday means James can play against the Jazz tonight and in the first two games after the break, Feb. 19 at Oklahoma City and the following night at home against Houston.

James was drafted 33rd overall by the Mavericks in 2012. He has since played in China with the Shanghai Sharks.
