Miami sophomore guard Davon Reed is expected to miss four to six months after surgery.
The Hurricanes announced Reed's injury Friday, one day after he had the surgery on what university officials described as a ''left lower extremity.'' He was injured in an offseason workout earlier in the week.
Reed made 10 starts for Miami last season and averaged 6.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, shooting 36 percent from 3-point range.
