Clemson, Brownell agree to six-year extension

Clemson and coach Brad Brownell have reached an agreement for a new six-year contract, the school announced on Friday. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

In four seasons under Brownell, the Tigers have posted a 74-58 record, with only one NCAA tournament appearance (2011). Last season, Clemson – buoyed by a top-20 defense and projected NBA draft pick K.J. McDaniels – reached the NIT semifinals after posting a 10-8 record in the ACC, including an upset of then-No. 16 Duke in January.
