Former University of Louisville basketball player Kevin Ware, who transferred to Georgia State to play closer to home, was cleared by the NCAA to play immediately this season.
Ware appeared in nine games last season, returning from a broken leg suffered during the 2013 NCAA tournament. He stopped playing in December to seek a medical redshirt.
At worst, Ware was expected to be eligible the second semester of this season, but the NCAA will allow him to play immediately.
