Michigan State's Dawson to miss 4-5 weeks with broken hand

Michigan State has lost starting forward Branden Dawson for four to five weeks due to a broken bone in his right hand, the school announced Thursday.

Dawson said he suffered the injury when he slammed his hand on a table in frustration while watching a film session Thursday morning.

He is scheduled for surgery Thursday night. The 6-foot-6 junior is averaging 10.2 points and 8.7 rebounds this season.
