Dirk Nowitzki doesn't see any way that the Dallas Mavericks' Monta Ellis won't opt out of the final year of his contract, making him a free agent on July 1.
Ellis has until June 24 to make the decision. And there have been whispers around the NBA that Ellis may be having second thoughts about the decision.
Nowitzki remains convinced that Ellis will become a free agent.
"I haven't talked to him lately, but I'm guessing he'll opt out," Nowitzki said Tuesday. "Why would he not. He had two phenomenal seasons here."
