The Warriors will open their best-of-seven series against Memphis at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, but they have no idea if the Grizzlies will have Mike Conley in the lineup.
After an inadvertent elbow from C.J. McCollum on April 22, the Memphis point guard had surgery Monday to repair multiple facial fractures.
He missed the final two games of the first-round series against Portland, including Wednesday’s game.
His left eye was no longer swollen shut, but Conley was hardly recognizable because of swelling on the left half of his face.
There’s an outside chance that the swelling will decrease enough that Conley will be fitted for a protective mask before Sunday’s opener.
