Without Calderon, Mavericks weren't the same team

The Dallas Mavericks found out how fragile things can be Friday night.

They lost a good, solid, starting point guard who was having a hot shooting night and when two rookies couldn't handle the situation, Monta Ellis had to take over the playmaking responsibilities and the Mavericks were never the same, losing a 17-point lead in the second half and the game 88-87 to Atlanta on a 20-foot jumper by Al Horford with 4.2 seconds left.

Jose Calderon injured his right ankle in the first half, tried to play in the third quarter, but when the pain got worse, he departed for X-rays, which were negative.

But without him, the Mavericks were a different team.
