Iowa State guard Cooke will be out 6-8 months

Iowa State guard Hallice Cooke will have surgery to repair cartilage tears in both hips and will be out 6-8 months.

The Cyclones say Cooke, who is redshirting the 2014-15 season, will have surgery to repair one of his ailing hips in New York City on Monday.

Cooke transferred from Oregon State in the offseason after averaging 8.2 points per game.
