Jose Calderon was scratched from the New York Knicks' lineup because of a strained right calf.
The Knicks announced Calderon's absence Wednesday shortly after coach Derek Fisher had said the Spaniard would start. Calderon sat out the last two preseason games after getting hurt early in an Oct. 20 contest, but Fisher said he had increased his workload in recent days.
