Chicago guard Jimmy Butler sprained his left thumb in the Bulls' exhibition game against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night.
With about 5 minutes left in the first quarter, Butler deflected a pass from Charlotte's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Butler immediately grabbed for his hand and remained in the game for most of the rest of the quarter, but was ruled out before halftime.
