Wizards get Tim Frazier from Pelicans for 2nd-round pick

Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has acquired guard Tim Frazier from the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for their 2017 second-round pick (52nd overall).

Frazier (6-1, 170) holds career averages of 6.2 points, 4.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 127 career regular season games (40 starts) in three seasons with Philadelphia, Portland and New Orleans.

Last season, the former Penn State standout averaged 7.1 points, 5.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 0.9 steals in 65 games (35 starts) with the Pelicans.

The Houston native was named the NBA Development League MVP and Rookie of the Year in 2014 after averaging 16.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 1.7 steals in 41 games for the Maine Red Claws.
