Heat suspend Gerald Green for 2 games over detrimental conduct

Guard Gerald Green's absence from the Miami Heat will continue until Friday, a suspension for what the Heat announced Tuesday as "conduct detrimental to the team."

The Heat announced the two-game suspension for Green prior to their game against the Los Angeles Lakers at AmericanAirlines Arena.

In a statement released by the Heat, Green was quoted saying, "I want to apologize to my family, fans and the Heat organization. I accept the suspension and look forward to rejoining my teammates this weekend."
