Just two weeks before the start of preseason practices, the Rockets are working on a three-year contract with second-round pick Montrezl Harrell.
Harrell, a 6-7 power forward, was selected with the 32nd pick in the 2015 draft and played with the Rockets’ summer league team, but negotiations were slow as Harrell chose between the longer offer and a one-year deal that would have allowed Harrell to be a free agent next summer when the NBA salary cap will increase extensively.
