Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James has been elected first vice president of the National Basketball Players Association, a person close to James told USA TODAY Sports.
The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the move until it was announced officially by the NBPA.
Two summers ago, James considered running for president but concluded he didn't have the time the job required.
