Former Knicks forward Anthony Mason ‘fighting for his life’

Anthony Mason, a bruising power forward who personified the gritty Knicks of the mid-90s, was “fighting for his life” Wednesday night, according to a Twitter report.

According to a tweet from Peter Vecsey, the 48-year-old Mason had “congestive heart failure, heart attack, 4 surgeries, the last one 9 hrs.”

While the Knicks sent a tweet before Wednesday’s game in Orlando that said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Anthony Mason and his family,” they would not share any information with the media.
