Pau Gasol felt 'weird' facing old Lakers team on Christmas Day

Pau Gasol couldn't appear more comfortable in the flow of the Chicago Bulls offense during their 113-93 win over his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers, on Christmas Day. But, on the inside, Gasol was a ball of emotions.

"It was weird," Gasol said. "It was an emotional game. I was excited to play against the team that I played with for so many years. At first it was hard to get going, but once you start playing you start playing the game the best that you can."

Gasol was certainly at his best. He posted 23 points, 13 rebounds and three assists, with many of his baskets and crisp passes coming at critical moments.

"In a way," Gasol said. "Their team is struggling right now, but I will move on and it will be much tougher emotionally when we play them in Los Angeles."
