Sixers beat Pistons 108-101 in overtime

On a night when something had to give, the 76ers held the Pistons without a field goal in overtime, beating Detroit 108-101 on Saturday for their second victory of the season.

The Pistons lost their 11th straight game, this one in a matchup of the teams with the NBA's two worst records.

Robert Covington scored 25 points for Philadelphia and Michael Carter-Williams added 20. Josh Smith led Detroit with 23 points, and he also had eight rebounds and seven assists.

Suns 95 Rockets 100

Trevor Ariza and Pat Beverley each scored 19 points to lead the Rockets to their fourth straight victory, 100-95 over the Phoenix Suns.

Houston improved to 16-4 by winning for the seventh time in the nine games Dwight Howard has been out.

The Rockets never trailed and led by as many as 22 points. The Suns used an 8-2 run, capped by a tip-in by PJ Tucker, to cut the lead to 97-93 with 21 seconds remaining.

Eric Bledsoe led the Suns with 23 points.

Magic 105 Kings 96

Tobias Harris scored a season-high 27 points, Channing Frye made a game-changing 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter and Orlando beat the Sacramento Kings.

Victor Oladipo added 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds to help the Magic to their second straight win following back-to-back losses to the Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Darren Collison scored 22 points while Jason Thompson added 18 for Sacramento. The Kings have dropped five of six.
