Pelicans small forward John Salmons was not with the team last night, because his wife was expected to give birth yesterday, according to Fox Sports New Orleans TV.
As a result of Salmons’ absence, Pelicans rookie guard Russ Smith was on the team’s active list for the first time during the regular season although he didn't play.
