Stephen Curry, who signed a four-year, $44 million extension two years ago when there was uncertainty about his ankle problems, now knows that Klay Thompson will be in place when it comes time for Curry's next contract.
"That's a big statement for sure," Curry said Saturday of the team giving Thompson a maximum-salary contract. "They're committed to putting together the roster that they feel is capable of winning a championship and doing whatever it takes to maintain that."
"Obviously I don't know what the situation will be in two years (when his contract expires at the end of the 2016-17 season). The direction that we're headed is definitely promising for sure."
