Kawhi Leonard sure agent, Spurs will reach deal

Kawhi Leonard, the recently-crowned Finals MVP, will have a four-month window, starting on July 1, to sign an extension with the Spurs.

If not, he’ll become a restricted free agent next summer, at which point the Spurs will be able to match any offer he receives.

But Leonard doesn’t expect to be playing anywhere else for the foreseeable future.

“I’m just playing. The Spurs are a great organization. I’m leaving that to my agent, and I’m sure they’ll come out with a great understanding and a deal. I’m not focused on that at all.”
