The Lakers have interviewed at least a half-dozen coaches, but sources say they are focused on three primary candidates: Kurt Rambis, Alvin Gentry and Byron Scott.
However, Rambis could join the Knicks as Derek Fisher's lead assistant. He is close to Phil Jackson and has a strong relationship with Fisher, making him an ideal assistant in New York, if he's available.
