Vinny Del Negro interviewed with the Cavaliers over the weekend, a league source with knowledge of the interview confirmed, bringing the total to five known coaching candidates who have interviewed for the vacant coaching job.
The source spoke on condition of anonymity because the Cavs aren’t making their coaching search public.
Del Negro, 47, is close personally to Cavs General Manager David Griffin. His contract was not renewed after last season despite guiding the Los Angeles Clippers to a 56-26 finish.
