Nash won't retire from Lakers 'because I want the money'

In the third part of a Grantland video series following Steve Nash’s trying second season in Los Angeles, the 40-year-old point guard made it clear why he’s not retiring this year and won’t retiring next year. It’s about the money.

"The reality is, I'm not going to retire because I want the money,” Nash, who’s owed $9.7 million next season, said in the 11-minute video. “I'm sorry if that is frustrating to some, but if they were in my shoes they'd do exactly the same thing. I wouldn't believe for a minute that they wouldn't."
