Melo scores 62 points, breaks Knicks' single-game record

Carmelo Anthony set a record at the current Garden by detonating for 62 points in the Knicks’ 125-96 victory that ended a five-game losing streak and perhaps emotionally invigorated the All-Star forward, who had been mentally beaten down for the past 10 days.

Anthony’s 62 points set a franchise record previously held by Bernard King, who scored 60 points 30 years ago. It’s also the most points scored at the current MSG, surpassing Kobe Bryant’s mark of 61 set nearly five years ago to the day.
