Cavs' Waiters returns to practice, denies fight

Cavaliers guard Dion Waiters denied rumors that there was a physical confrontation during a heated players-only meeting after the worst loss of the season last week in Minnesota.

The rumors surfaced last weekend after Kyrie Irving showed up for Friday's home game against Charlotte with a black eye and broken nose, while Waiters missed games on Friday and Saturday because of illness, according to the team's injury report.

Irving had been hit in the face by Minnesota's Corey Brewer during the first quarter of Wednesday's game, had an X-ray and returned to play. After the game, Irving called the players-only meeting, which turned testy but not physical, Waiters said after practice on Monday at Cleveland Clinic Courts.

"We men,'' he said in his first comments to reporters since before the Minnesota game. "Nobody got into no altercations or anything like that... All the other rumors, man, are rumors. Don't believe it. It's not true."
