The Utah Jazz signed point guard Diante Garrett, the team announced Wednesday.
Garrett is the 2013-14 season's first call-up from the NBA Development League, which has not commenced its season. He had been signed to the Iowa Energy.
The signing comes on the heels of the Jazz waiving veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley, who had been signed as a stopgap point guard while 2013 lottery pick Trey Burke recovers from surgery on his broken right finger.
