The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard David Nwaba to a multi-year contract, it was announced today by General Manager Rob Pelinka. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
“We have been impressed by David’s focus and determination, especially on defense,” said Pelinka.
Nwaba signed the first of his two 10-day contracts with the Lakers on February 28, and the second on March 11. In 10 games (two starts), Nwaba is averaging 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 14.4 minutes.
The L.A. native went undrafted out of Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, and played in 39 games (30 starts) with the Lakers NBA Development League affiliate, the Los Angeles D-Fenders, before his Call-Up to the Lakers, where he tallied 14.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks in 29.0 minutes.
The Lakers roster stands at 15.
