The Memphis Grizzlies announced that guard Jordan Adams undergone cartilage transplant surgery on his right knee, Wednesday, June 15.
In August 2015, Adams underwent a lateral meniscectomy on his right knee after sustaining a partially torn meniscus during an off-season workout.
Adams subsequently underwent a debridement surgery on January 12, 2016.
Following that surgery, Adams participated in a lengthy rehab program, extending through the second half of the 2015-16 season, in an effort to resume basketball activities.
However, Adams was ultimately unable to return to contact play without pain in his right knee and after his latest evaluation by the team’s medical staff, Adams and the medical staff determined that a cartilage transplant is in his best interests.
He will be out indefinitely.
