Newly bought-out forward Joe Johnson has agreed to sign with the Miami Heat instead of the Cleveland Cavaliers, league sources informed on Friday.
The Cavaliers were viewed as the favorites to land Johnson prior to him accepting a buyout from Brooklyn. Miami will provide Johnson more opportunities to contribute than what Cleveland could offer.
Still, Johnson passing on the Cavaliers to land in South Beach is a bit surprising considering LeBron James professed openly his desire to bring in Johnson.
