The Mavericks waived guard Pierre Jackson on Friday, but his time with the team likely will resume soon.
The game plan for the Mavericks is to re-sign the 5-11 guard to a 10-day contract on Jan. 14 after he plays for the NBA D-League's Texas Legends the next week.
The Mavericks signed Jackson last week to a non-guaranteed two-year deal.
