Former Lakers and Clippers forward Lamar Odom woke up and spoke briefly on Friday morning, according to multiple sources familiar with the situation.
Odom also had his breathing tubes removed in favor of a breathing mask, sources said. That move both reduced complications and signified progress with Odom’s ability to breathe on his own. But Odom is still considered in critical condition.
Odom had been on life support and in a coma since he was hospitalized Tuesday night at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas.
