The Minnesota Timberwolves are progressing on a contract buyout with former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett after failing to find a trade partner to unload him, according to league sources.
Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft to the Cleveland Cavaliers, is on track to be remembered as one of the all-time draft busts in league history.
Bennett's reps have been eager for a contract buyout to allow him the chance for greater playing time, league sources said.
