Miami Heat forward James Ennis is finalizing a plan that would postpone a decision on his contract until the start of the regular season.
Ennis originally had a Saturday deadline for the Heat to either guarantee half of his $845,000 2015-16 salary or release him.
Instead, two sources involved in the process told the Sun Sentinel that the contract will be modified with no decision required until the eve of the season, when the Heat will have to decide to guarantee his salary for all of 2015-16.
