Southern Miss received a notice of allegations from the NCAA on Friday after a nearly nine-month joint investigation related to rules violations allegedly committed by the men’s basketball program and its former Coach Donnie Tyndall during his tenure in Hattiesburg.
The 43-page notice levies charges against Tyndall that range from the arrangement of “fraudulent academic credit” for seven then-prospective student-athletes to the “impermissible source of financial aid to nonqualifier men’s basketball student-athletes.”
Many of the charges were termed as “a severe breach of conduct” or Level I violations.
