Indiana Pacers power forward David West, a two-time All-Star with career averages of 15.5 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game, is the latest free agent to sign on with the Spurs.
West, who will turn 35 in August, opted out of a contract in Indiana that was to pay him $12 million, saying a chance to pursue a championship was more important to him than money.
He will play for the veteran mimimum, $1.4 million, with the Spurs, proving he meant what he said.
