Baylor Bears star forward Rico Gathers turned himself into Waco, Texas, police on Tuesday after he was charged with "theft over $50, under $500" as a result of an incident at a local Wal-Mart.
Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Gathers, who averaged 11.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per game last season and earned a spot on the all-Big 12 first team, allegedly took pillows, a tote bag, a water dispenser and a trash can from the store without paying around midnight on June 1.
