Brooklyn Nets GM Billy King laid a out clear vision on Wednesday of the team he'd like to have next season and beyond. It starts with retaining center Brook Lopez and power forward Thaddeus Young.
King said Lopez and Young, both of whom can opt out of their contracts, have expressed strong interest in remaining with the team.
"We've got to retain those guys," King said. "They say they want to be here, we want them here because then you can build around them and build with them. Every indication we've gotten from both of them, they want to be here, we want them here."
