New York Knicks head basketball coach Derek Fisher will receive a honorary doctoral degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock next month, the university announced Tuesday.
The UALR Honors and Awards Committee selected Fisher, a UALR alumnus, to receive an honorary Doctor of Liberal Arts Degree, university spokesman Keli Jacobi said in a news release.
Fisher played basketball for the Trojans and was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year during his senior year at the university, the release states.
