The Memphis Grizzlies re-assigned forward/center Jarnell Stokes to the Grizzlies’ NBA Development League affiliate, the Iowa Energy, Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace announced today.
This marks the sixth assignment to Iowa for Stokes in his rookie season.
Stokes (6-9, 263) holds season averages of 14.7 points on .642 shooting and 9.7 rebounds in 28.8 minutes with eight double-doubles in 16 games (seven starts) with the Energy. The 21-year-old posted averages of 18.3 points on .677 shooting with 10.7 rebounds in 32.5 minutes in six games in his previous assignment to Iowa (Feb. 22-March 10).
The Memphis native has averaged 2.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 6.5 minutes in 17 games (two starts) during his rookie season for the Grizzlies.
