Kobe Bryant will undergo surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, ending his 19th season with the Los Angeles Lakers a little past its halfway point.
Bryant injured his right shoulder in last Wednesday night’s game against the Pelicans in New Orleans.
The team announced that Bryant was examined on Monday morning by Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.
Dr. ElAttrache confirmed an earlier diagnosis of a torn rotator cuff, and advised Bryant to have surgery to repair the shoulder. Surgery has been scheduled for Wednesday morning.
