Iman Shumpert is close to making his debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has been on the inactive list since he was traded from New York on Jan. 5.
Shumpert has been rehabilitating his dislocated left shoulder suffered Dec. 12 vs. Boston.
There was some speculation the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder would play against Utah on Jan. 21, but he ruled that out after practice at Cleveland Clinic Courts.
Shumpert, 24, is expected to give the Cavaliers’ perimeter defense a boost with his frenetic style once he does return, possibly vs. Charlotte on Jan. 23.
