The Canton Charge soon will have a familiar face back in uniform. According to a team source, point guard Jorge Gutierrez is returning to the Charge.
The gritty point guard from California played most of the past two seasons in Canton. The Brooklyn Nets signed Gutierrez to a 10-day contract late last season and eventually signed him for the rest of that year and the next.
This season, Gutierrez was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 11 and waived the next day. After clearing waivers, he became a free agent. The Charge retained his D-League rights.
