Marcus Smart is a work in progress. That goes for his game as well as that nasty left ankle sprain and bruised bone injury he suffered on Nov. 7 that sidelined him for 10 games.
He has since returned from the injury, even making his first career NBA start on Sunday night at Miami.
But that ankle injury is still somewhat bothersome to the rookie. "A little bit when I woke up; it was a little sore," Smart said. "It didn't swell, but it was definitely a little sore. But that's expected."
