Nuggets reserve center JaVale McGee is expected to be out a "significant" amount of time after he aggravated a muscle near the tibia in which he had a stress fracture repaired, Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said Sunday.
McGee was back with the team on Sunday after taking a couple of days off to get his left leg examined by a doctor. He has played in just one game since Nov. 23.
McGee, who missed 77 games last season due to the stress fracture, is averaging 5.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 14 appearances this season.
